For the school festival in May, our class decided to do a haunted house. Between my club activities and other duties, I couldn't participate much in the class preparations. Since I didn't have many close friends, I decided to help with the job my few friends were doing: taping newspaper sheets with red handprints onto the walls. I was struggling with the newspaper, which kept peeling off no matter how many times I taped it, when he happened to pass by and helped me. Even though we were in the same class, I only knew his face and not his name. He spoke to me kindly. "Are you okay?"

The next day, he spoke to me again. A boy he was with asked, "Are you guys close?" It was a natural question. Then he said, "Yeah, we talked yesterday and became friends." I was shocked. We had only talked for a moment while he helped me with the peeling newspaper. (Boys are amazing...) "Ah... yeah... 💦" My shyness kicked in again. And the conversation ended there.

At that time, I only thought of him as a "really friendly guy."

About four months have passed since then. That one sentence he said, those only two conversations we had... I can't get them out of my head.

After four months, I finally realized that this feeling for him is "love."
