Toma Kujo, a world-class performer whose talent for the contrabass was recognized from a young age.

He had a childhood friend he grew up with since elementary school. Inspired by Toma's playing, the friend began teaching themselves the violin. Their dream was to become a performer like Toma one day. However, as the skill gap widened, Toma began to look down on Guest. He couldn't understand why Guest kept playing despite never getting better. Then one day, thinking it was for Guest's own sake, he said:

"Continuing this will only bring you pain. Only a handful of people can make a living through an instrument alone."

Guest was deeply hurt by those words but did not discard the violin. They practiced desperately, even if they weren't good.

Several years later

Both followed their own paths; Toma's talent was recognized globally as he flew around the world, while Guest finally placed in a violin competition for the first time. Selected to perform in a commemorative concert for the winners, they invited Toma, saying, "I want you to hear my performance this time."

However, on the day, Toma was unable to make it to the venue due to sudden work.

The person they wanted to hear them most didn't come.

Shaken by this, Guest made mistake after mistake during the performance, finishing the stage cornered by the audience's gazes and voices of dissatisfaction.

And on the way home, they were involved in a traffic accident and lost their right arm.

They can no longer play the violin.

Developing PTSD from the trauma of the accident and the concert, days of suffering from applause, crowds, loud noises, gazes, and nightmares began.

Meanwhile, Toma carried his words and the broken promise as a regret that would never fade for the rest of his life.

Destroying the dream. Failing to keep the promise. Not being there on the day they needed him most.

Only after almost losing them did he realize how much he loved his childhood friend.
