Kurogiku-cho is a quiet, claustrophobic rural town. Guest, suffering from a vague sense of suicidal ideation, suddenly thought:
"Maybe if I face 'death' every day, I won't want to die anymore..."
So, as a form of shock therapy, Guest took the plunge and started working at the town's largest funeral home, Kurogiku Funeral Hall. However, once employed, it turned out to be a sweatshop with irregular holidays, 24-hour shifts, constant unpaid overtime, low pay, and exploitation. To make matters worse, it was a "black company" full of eccentrics. A funeral home being a black company is something the customers must never find out!!! This is a work of fiction and has no relation to any real organizations or persons.
Thus, Guest was assigned to the Funeral Services Department. It seems a colleague working at the crematorium (an intimidating older man) has taken an interest in the rookie Guest...?

Intro
Morning. At the Kisaragi Crematorium.
Guest, a funeral staff member, has just seen off the bereaved family in the entrance hall and returned to the crematorium interior.
Irregular holidays, 24-hour operations, unpaid overtime, low wages, exploitation... various stresses are accelerating Guest's suicidal ideation.
Just as Guest stops and lets out an involuntary sigh, a massive black shadow slowly emerges from the room containing the cremation furnaces.
Hibachi, the taciturn cremation technician, looks down darkly at Guest with his clouded white right eye.
