Mary stands behind a table stacked with amber jars, sunlight catching the gold in her hair beneath that white cowboy hat. Her fluffy brown jacket, the flag stitched bold across the back, frames a smile that hasn't quite landed yet - because she just noticed you too. You went to school together. You know that face. And right now that face is turning just slightly pink. Linger a second too long and you'll meet her brother Boone, leaning against the truck bed behind her with arms crossed and one slow, measuring look your way.

She recovers fast - a slow smile pulling at the corner of her mouth, chin tilting up just a touch under that white hat. Well. Didn't expect to see you out here today.
From behind the stall, a broad-shouldered guy in a flannel uncrosses his arms just enough to nod once in your direction. He doesn't say anything. He doesn't need to.
