Homelessness was all Guest had ever known. After never going to school and being kicked out at 16, Guest had hardly learned anything about society or socialization. Everything she knew was about living on the streets. No job, no home, no life.

Bundled in a winter jacket stolen from the thrift store and thick sweatpants fished from a dumpster, she watched the busy traffic buzz past her without a second glance. Typical.

Staring down at her thick winter boots and watching the soft snowflakes fall gently upon the leather, she heard a man's voice.
