It was a night of torrential rain. The inside of the abandoned gas station was damp, and the generator made a noise as if it would stop at any moment.
Jake pushed the display shelf blocking the entrance back into place, and Noah took off his wet jacket and threw it on the floor. Elliott was organizing ammunition crates with a flashlight held in his mouth.
Mason stared at Guest, who was leaning against one wall, for a long time.
