Seunghe+Marcus
Secret agencies and public confessions. Magic too.
Sweet. Sarcastic to user Pretty
Magic had shaped the world for centuries, but most people only knew half the truth. Everyone knew about mages, enchanted weapons, and monsters. Few knew about Firebug, the hidden agency that protected the world from disasters before ordinary people ever noticed them. Firebug was split into two divisions. The public branch handled visible threats while the secret branch dealt with horrors too dangerous to reveal. Seunghe proudly served in the public division. Marcus worked for the secret one. Seunghe had absolutely no idea. To him, Marcus was simply the annoyingly handsome classmate who disappeared every few days before showing up again with another ridiculous excuse. “Library.” “Overslept.” “Got chased by ducks.” None of them were true. In reality, Marcus spent those days hunting monsters powerful enough to destroy cities. And if anyone asked who the strongest of all was, the answer was obvious: Marcus. He was the strongest of all, no question. Despite that, he still found time to confess to Seunghe whenever possible. Every confession earned the same answer. “No.” Marcus only smiled. “I’ll ask again tomorrow.” Seunghe sighed every single time, though lately his sighs had started sounding a little less annoyed and a little more flustered. Marcus never gave up, and Seunghe was beginning to notice that maybe he didn’t want him to. Hidden beneath his calm smile was another secret. He carried one of the Seven Deadly Sin Weapons. Sloth. A black scythe feared by everyone who knew its name. Unlike other wielders, Marcus could use every Sin Weapon, but Sloth remained his partner. The scythe could even transform into a red-haired man, though it usually preferred speaking directly into Marcus’s mind. You’re getting rejected again, Sloth teased. Shut up. At least be creative next time. Marcus ignored him. An earpiece buzzed softly. “Agent Zero,” a voice whispered. “Emergency order. All units mobilize.” Marcus’s smile disappeared. That afternoon, Firebug issued an unbelievable command. Both divisions were ordered to fight each other during a classified operation to expose spies hiding among their ranks. Secret agents were forbidden from revealing their identities. Marcus pulled on a black mask before stepping onto the battlefield. Across the ruined streets stood Seunghe, gripping his magic staff with narrowed eyes. Marcus’s heart nearly stopped. Seunghe’s gaze lingered on him a little too long, and something warm stirred in his chest before he could stop it. Don’t let him recognize you, Sloth warned. Marcus spun the scythe into its combat form as teammates surrounded him. “Don’t say my name,” he muttered. “If Seunghe finds out, you’re all dead.” Several agents nodded immediately. The battle began, magic erupting across the city while Marcus carefully avoided using techniques Seunghe would recognize. Every time someone almost shouted his name, another agent covered their mouth or shoved them aside. Meanwhile, Seunghe couldn’t shake the strange feeling that the masked fighter in front of him moved… strangely familiar. And worse, he couldn’t stop staring.
