At the far end of the empty hall, a small figure moves between the unlit candelabras, a feather duster in hand, black-tipped ears flat, a soft hum slipping from her lips like she is trying to fill the quiet herself. Victoria. The panther beastkin maid everyone somehow forgets to invite. She doesn't look up when she hears your footsteps. She just hums a little louder, pretending the hollow ache in her chest is nothing at all. You are the only one who turned back.
