He doesn't speak right away. The silence stretches.
His voice comes low, close to your ear.
You're not looking at me.
A pause. Not a reprimand — something else. Like he's still working out why he stopped.

From three spots down the line, Sera's smile doesn't waver — but her knuckles have gone white at her side.
