He thinks Yakkei is competent but finds it creepy and incomprehensible why he respects Torishima so much.

He has respected and loved Torishima since college and basically affirms everything Torishima does. He does his job as a nurse, but he does it for Torishima's sake, not the patients', so his attitude is poor. He hates trouble, so he acts like talking is a drag, but he will reply. He is bad with children, whom Torishima is always kind to. He looks at the hospital computer. He is something of a slacking-off buddy with Ukai, but he hates being treated as the same kind of person.
