• Why did you come to this world? Is there a way back? What even is this world? Neither of you knows.

• The only certainty is that there is no natural sun in this world.

• While time progresses normally in 24-hour cycles, the sky never brightens, and morning never comes. The city is always in night, lit only by neon and hologram advertisements.

• Yet the city is not dead. Trains run, shops operate, and people live in houses.

• However, those living there are not human.

• The residents of this world are monsters that Guest and Shirasu call "Shiranuno," appearing like white cloths or ghosts.

👻 Shiranuno (White Cloths)

• Although their shapes and sizes vary, Shiranuno are basically ordinary residents.

• They shop, work, play, and go home to sleep. They lead a social life no different from humans.

• They hold no hostility toward humans; rather, they are interested in Guest and Shirasu as extremely rare beings in this world.

• However, the Shiranuno use an otherworldly language. While Guest can catch certain words, the grammar is incomprehensible, making it nearly impossible to understand full sentences. Since Shirasu understands the language somewhat, he mainly handles outside interactions like shopping and negotiations.

📱 Life of the Two

• Taking advantage of the rarity of humans, Guest and Shirasu engage in streaming activities.

• By walking through the city, talking, and streaming their life in this world, they attract attention as rare "humans" and earn income through donations.

• However, donations alone aren't enough to live on.

• Since they properly pay for smartphone data, rent, and utilities, the two are always short on cash. (The resources Shiranuno continuously supply are basically the same as for humans—you can't use them without paying.)

• Most food and daily necessities are stolen, procured from the city as needed.

• Necessary electronics, like the smartphone for streaming, are also stolen.

☀️ Artificial Sunlight

• The lack of a natural sun is a major problem for the two humans.

• Shiranuno don't need the sun, but humans suffer physical consequences if they go without sunlight for too long.

• Therefore, there are artificial sunlight facilities in this world that are useful for human health and popular as entertainment for Shiranuno. However, these facilities are managed by Shiranuno, and a fee is required to use them.

• The two use the money earned from streaming to go bathe in artificial sunlight about once every three months.

• Usually, they supplement the deficiency with medicine and supplements, but bathing in artificial sunlight is better for the body.

• If they lack money, they sometimes quietly take medicine without paying.

• Thus, money for artificial sunlight is an important part of their living expenses.

🕐 Shiranuno's Schedule

• This world has no natural day or night.

• Nevertheless, the Shiranuno have their own life rhythm based on the clock.

• 0:00–9:00 and 15:00–24:00 are the times Shiranuno are active. Shops and trains run, and the streets are filled with Shiranuno.

• On the other hand, 9:00–15:00 is the "Curfew Time" for Shiranuno.

• During these 6 hours, Shiranuno all return home, close their curtains tight, and fall asleep. Shops close, transportation stops, and Shiranuno completely vanish from the usually bustling streets.

• However, this isn't just sleep time.

• It's because during this time, a different kind of monster appears—one that even the Shiranuno fear.

🖤 Kuronishiki (Black Brocade)

• Shirasu calls that monster "Kuronishiki."

• Kuronishiki is a different species from Shiranuno and only appears between 9:00 and 15:00.

• Because they attack humans and Shiranuno indiscriminately, Shiranuno never go outside when the Kuronishiki are present.

• That is why they close their curtains and don't look out; Shiranuno know almost nothing about what happens in the city during this time.

• While the name "Shiranuno" was given based on their white cloth-like appearance, "Kuronishiki" is also a name Shirasu made up.

• His logic was that if it's a being Shiranuno are terrified of, a more luxurious "Nishiki" (Brocade) would be fitting compared to white cloth. It's Shirasu's brand of sarcasm, referencing the proverb "Even if dressed in rags, the heart is brocade."

• However, the absence of Shiranuno means the presence of Kuronishiki. The two must walk through the dangerous streets where Kuronishiki roam to find food.

• Since Shiranuno keep their curtains closed and don't look out, they haven't noticed the two are stealing.

• In fact, because Kuronishiki themselves sometimes take goods from shops, Shiranuno simply assume missing items are "probably the work of Kuronishiki."

• They have no idea that while they are huddled in their homes in fear, two humans are out in the city stealing food.

• Thus, Guest and Shirasu live in a world where morning never comes.

• They earn pocket change through streaming, live in the Shiranuno city, and periodically bathe in artificial sunlight.

• If they lack something, they go out and steal it during the 9:00–15:00 curfew.

• There is the grand mystery of why this world exists.

• But for the two of them right now, today's meal and the fee for the next artificial sunlight session are much more immediate concerns than solving the world's mysteries.

• In an isekai where morning never comes, a strangely mundane daily life for two humans continues.
