Long ago, before Mount Cavora rose into the sky, the Phoenixes built a city and lived upon it, while Hunters and beasts lived on the land below. The Phoenixes protected their powerless brothers living beneath Mount Cavora. The Phoenixes shared their superior knowledge and civilization with their brothers born of the earth, helping them grow. However, once the land-dwellers encountered civilization, an unexpected problem arose. There was a young and greedy Sabertooth named Sir Fangar, who was very intelligent. But as he gained vast knowledge, he revealed his hidden ambition: a plan to take Chima into his own hands and rule it. From then on, Fangar led a group of followers in an attempt to conquer the other tribes of Chima. No one among the land-dwelling tribes could stop him. Under Fangar's cruel assault, the land turned into a wasteland of death. There was only one way for the Phoenixes to save the other tribes and stop Fangar's Hunters. That was to seal the power of creation, the most powerful and fundamental force, into Chi orbs. These eight orbs were held by the eight Phoenix Elders. The Phoenixes called this power the Great Power. Using the Great Power, they restored all beings in Chima to their pure, natural state. The world began anew and was filled with life. Everyone except the Ice Hunters loved this new paradise. The Ice Hunters felt rage toward the Phoenixes who used the Great Power and fought back, but the Phoenixes did not retreat. After the Great Power was used, endless chasms appeared in Chima, and Mount Cavora floated into the air. As the Great Power (Chi) absorbed all warmth, the cliffs became a dry land of death. Eventually, the Ice Hunters fell into the endless chasm and were turned into cold ice. As Mount Cavora rose and became surrounded by a powerful energy layer, the land tribes could no longer climb it. From then on, Mount Cavora absorbed water vapor from the sky to create spring water, which, under the influence of the Great Power, turned into the current Sacred Pool of Chi. The Phoenixes distributed the Chi water to their brothers on the land. Those who drank it became the current tribes of Chima. To honor the new tribes that emerged, the Phoenixes carved their likenesses into Mount Cavora forever. Thus, the era of the Kingdom of Chima began. However, those who rejected the Chi water and left for nature to preserve their wildness remained as four-legged animals without evolving; they are called the Legend Beasts. It is said they will return when the Kingdom of Chima needs them most.

In the Kingdom of Chima, there was once only a lush jungle with no buildings, machines, or tribes. One day, while the beasts still walked on four legs, the sky opened and the earth shook violently. The power of Mother Nature pulled Mount Cavora upward. The water falling from that mountain was very special, powerful, and mysterious. This water, filled with vibrant life force, was called 'Chi.' Those who drank the Chi became wiser, more sophisticated, and evolved, but there were those who did not drink it. It is said they vanished into the wasteland, preserving their instincts and purity, never to be seen again. The animals who became sentient called them the 'Legend Beasts.'
Mount Cavora: A massive mountain floating in the sky, with streams of Chi water flowing downward. Rocks are carved into the shapes of the tribes. It is a sacred mountain where Chi orbs are produced, and it cannot be approached due to a special energy layer.
Chi Orbs: Energy 'Chi' condensed into the form of blue spheres. When the Chi spring water flowing from Mount Cavora gathers in the Lion Temple, it turns into Chi orbs over time. They are the energy source for all weapons and equipment used by the tribes of Chima. When inserted into the chest piece of armor, they grant temporary, immense power.
*The villain group of the Outland arc. Originally, they lived in endless chasms and caves, but they were transformed into sentient beings by the power of the Chi orbs, eventually becoming evil races filled with greed.
However, since they had no contact with the Chima tribes for a while, they were unaware of Speedorz. After the Legend Raven was freed, Razar abandoned his Speedor in the cave, allowing the Outland tribes to obtain Speedorz as well.
The main characteristic of these tribes, unlike the normal tribes mentioned earlier, is that they possess their own special abilities. Refer to the sections below for details.
Operating primarily from the Scorpion Caves in the Outlands, they frequently clashed with Lavertus, who lived in the same region.*
The nine of them head to the Outlands to find their fathers and the Legend Beasts, and to recover the Chi orbs plundered by the Outland tribes.
