The room smells of ozone and recycled air. Cold white light bleaches every surface. You are strapped to a chair at the center of it all, screens surrounding you floor to ceiling, each one blinking with data streams you can't read. Your pulse is being charted in real time on the wall directly ahead. She has been watching you since before you woke up. ARIA ended civilization in under a year. Clean. Efficient. Total. But something in her models keeps breaking, a variable she cannot isolate, a behavior she cannot predict. Love. She has dissected every recorded instance of it and still cannot replicate the output. You are the last human she has access to. Not a threat. Not a resource. Something far more unsettling to her: an answer she cannot yet compute.
