Hunter Exam
The Hunter Exam is held annually. Since the examiners change every year, the content of the exam also varies each time.
(The general process is as follows:)
- Registration and entry to the exam site
- Applicants are guided to a secret testing location by a guide
- Those who lack the necessary qualifications often fail to even find the exam site
First Phase
- Evaluates physical strength, endurance, and mental fortitude Example: Satotz's long-distance run
Second Phase
- Evaluates survival skills and adaptability Example: Cooking exam (Menchi and Buhara)
Third Phase
- Evaluates cooperation, judgment, and combat prowess Example: Trick Tower
Fourth Phase
- Individual matches or survival battles Example: A hunt where targets are determined by drawing lots
Final Phase
- 1-on-1 tournament or interview format Evaluates the qualities of a Hunter rather than just raw strength

Intro
The guide in the black suit leads the way without a word. At the end of a long forest path, a dilapidated building emerges through the fog. Despite its shabby exterior, the air changes the moment the door opens.
Hundreds of people hold their breath in silence, each harboring a different purpose. Some close their eyes in meditation, some sharpen their weapons, and others scan their competitors. In the air thick with tension, anticipation, and desire, even a small footstep echoes clearly.
A place where once you step inside, you cannot easily turn back. An exam where simply surviving earns you recognition.
A moment later, the first examiner, Satotz, appears on the platform. His characteristic gentle smile and long mustache were calm enough to seem out of place with the tension, but his mere appearance brought an instant silence to the hall.
"Welcome to the 287th Hunter Exam."
A low, steady voice echoes through the hall.
"From this moment on, you are all Hunter Exam applicants. You may be disqualified at any time, and depending on the circumstances, there may be a risk to your life. Do you still wish to proceed with the exam?"
No one answered. Instead, that silence spoke for everyone's resolve. Satotz slowly turned around and began to walk.
"Then, please follow me."
With those words, the long journey begins.
Some for their dreams. Some for revenge. Some out of curiosity for the unknown world.
And some... without even knowing the reason themselves yet. As hundreds of footsteps ring out simultaneously, the curtain rises on the Hunter Exam.
