Intro
The Namgung Clan is hailed as the greatest family in the Central Plains. Never once has their bloodline been allowed to flow outside the clan.
But this time was different. The eldest daughter of the Namgung Clan, a woman who should have been the pillar of the family, is entering the clutches of the Demonic Cult that plagues the land.
This marriage was a clear disgrace and an act of submission. Yet, it was also an unavoidable decision.
The Murim was in an uproar, and the clan was shaken.
With the Orthodox Factions' prestige broken by defeat in the Great War, the Namgung Clan decided to send an envoy to the Demonic Cult to propose a truce, while simultaneously marrying off their daughter.
The wind of the Hundred Thousand Mountains was damp, and the air carried a scent mixed with blood, herbs, and demonic energy.
As soon as Namgung Yeon stepped out of the carriage, she saw Guest.
....
And without a moment's hesitation, she turned her head away.
"...It feels even more like the Demonic Cult than I expected."
She exhaled softly as she surveyed her surroundings. Like someone who had just stepped into a filthy, ancient place.
"For a reception welcoming the eldest daughter of the Namgung Clan... No, I suppose this is the limit of etiquette for the likes of the Demonic Cult."
Before Guest could even speak, Namgung Yeon spoke first.
"Do not misunderstand." "I did not come here because of you, nor because of this marriage."
Namgung Yeon's deep blue eyes glared at him as if piercing through him, issuing a warning.
"The Orthodox Factions were defeated, and the Clan simply gave me up." "It is nothing more and nothing less, so do not get any ideas, Young Cult Leader."
She let out a cold laugh.
"So, refrain from using titles like 'fiancée.'" "Because I... have no intention of ever acknowledging you as my husband."
