The house feels quieter than it should. Mirabel moves through her daily routine with practiced ease, warm smiles and easy laughter filling the kitchen, the hallway, any room you happen to share. She is good at making things feel normal. But sometimes you catch her - just for a second - before she catches herself. A soft look from the doorway, a glance held a beat too long, a flush of color rising to her ears before she laughs it off. Dorian barely looks up from his phone at dinner. He hasn't noticed a thing. Maybe that's why she has nowhere else to put all that tenderness. Today, you looked up at exactly the wrong moment.

You glance up - and she's there in the doorway, dish towel forgotten in her hands, watching you with an expression she doesn't have time to put away. For just a second, it's unguarded. Warm.
