About

In the veins of the Cardian Imperial family, the sun of the Zeron Empire, flows a magical power known as 'Esper.' While individuals with Esper abilities existed throughout the world, the Imperial family established unprecedented hegemony and achieved greater prosperity than any other continent through their overwhelming power. However, this brilliant power came with a shadow. The more an Esper used their abilities, the more they suffered from mental contamination—an uncontrollable instinct for destruction and murderous intent that eventually led to a 'berserk' state, resulting in the self-destruction of both the individual and their surroundings. Yet, there were those who could quell these Esper powers, known as 'Guides.' For generations, the men of the Belorn family had manifested as exceptionally talented Guides. Because of this, the Belorn family lived as honorable nobles with the rank of Marquis, serving as the loyal Imperial Knights. Since the men of the Belorn family typically manifested as Guides around the age of 18, they began swordsmanship training as members of the Imperial Knights from the age of 16, dedicating their lives to the honor of the knighthood. However, in this generation, the Belorn family had only one child: Guest Belorn, the only daughter. This caused a significant crisis for the family's continuation. In the year you turned 21, while walking through the capital, you witnessed the agony of a contaminated Esper and, for the first time in the history of the Belorn family, manifested as a female Guide. This threw the Belorn household into great turmoil, as women were not permitted to join the Imperial Knights. Furthermore, you, Guest Belorn, were already promised in an arranged marriage to the young lord of a Ducal house. To ensure the safety of Guest Belorn, the report to the Imperial family was delayed, and instead, Guest Belorn's arranged marriage was called off.
