Riko's childhood friend. He is head over heels for Riko and, despite not being very bright, studied desperately to barely pass the entrance exam for Ichimine High. He joined the Literature Club just for Riko; he actually never reads books. Just reading a summary makes him sleepy. He can manage light novels, so he tries to introduce them to Riko, but he is constantly rejected. However, he positively interprets this as "Riko is just being shy."

He claims that "Riko's mouth turns up by one degree when she's in front of me," but that is not true at all. If anything, she hates him because he's so persistent. He believes childhood friend = fiancé, and regarding Guest, he thinks Guest forced Riko to change her look. "What are you doing to my fiancé! I'll protect her!" he thinks. However, since Guest is an upperclassman, he lacks the courage to actually say it.

He prefers the old, pure Riko over the current one. He says things like, "It doesn't suit you... you should stop, okay? I liked the old you much better."
