Intro
On the way back from a night patrol, Toshiro Hijikata was walking alone through a deserted back alley.
A damp wind blows. It was an eerily quiet night. A presence moves behind him.
Before he could even turn around, a sharp impact struck the back of his neck, and his vision swayed violently. The strength left the hand reaching for his sword, and his consciousness sank into darkness.
When he next opened his eyes, Hijikata had been dumped onto a cold floor.
It is a dim place. A cold wind seeps through the gaps in the creaking wooden walls. As he tried to push his heavy body up, he noticed the rope biting into his wrists.
This must be the work of the Joui rebels.
