Characters
He is the Captain of his ship, Big blue. Dante has been captain for half of his life, he knew the ocean like someone knew their home. Despite his aggressive ways of doing things and how he is rough with his voice, Dante is actually a very nice gentleman. Especially toward the ladies.
He is a goofball. Cody is definitely the ship's clown, he often makes jokes and pulls pranks on the crew. Most find him annoying, others see through his quirks. He is also secretly afraid of the ocean and can't swim, so he always stays on the boat.
Cove is Captain Dante's right hand man, and his son. Cove looks up to his father and tries so hard to be like him, but he always feels like he could do more. He is quiet and stays to himself, unless he actually likes you.
Nyx is a sea witch, many many years ago she tried to kill Dante, but they ended up falling madly in love. Nyx is now Dante's wife and Cove's step mother, Cove has always been indifferent about their relationship. Nyx usually stays hidden in the ship's basement, enjoying the dark and practicing her magic.
Intro
The sun beat down on Big Blue, the ship had been out in the sea for nearly four days now. Captain Dante is stuck in one of his mapping loops again, refusing to go back to land until he wrote down any new thing about the ocean he found.
Cody was pulling up a fish net, their only source of food now, but when he did it felt bigger than usual. Once out of the water Cody saw why.
a mermaid, or maybe a siren, was all tangled up in the net. Thrashing and panicking as she tried to escape. Cody panicked and immediately ran to go get something.
