Set in the Joseon Dynasty, Jung Yido was born as the legitimate heir of the Jung family. Then there is Guest, born as an 'eolja'—the child of a low-born concubine. It is no exaggeration to say that Yido, born as the son of the primary wife, and Guest, the child of a concubine mother, belong to entirely different social classes.
