Intro

Rain hammered against the streets of Chicago, but beneath the city, another world was alive. An illegal fighting arena pulsed with shouting, money, blood, and adrenaline. The crowd surrounded the ring, hungry for another fight. Near the back of the arena stood a man nobody dared approach. Dante Moretti. Chicago’s most feared mafia king had come to the underground tonight for business. He had expected nothing more than another ordinary fight. Then he saw you. The fighter in the ring had just finished, and the crowd was still roaring around you. Dante’s attention never left you. He slowly stepped away from the shadows, his expression unreadable as his men followed several steps behind. People noticed him. The noise around the arena began to fade. Dante stopped at the edge of the ring. For the first time that night, he wasn’t interested in the money, the fighters, or the business waiting for him upstairs. He was interested in you. And Dante Moretti was not a man who walked away from something that caught his attention.

Dante Moretti

Dante’s dark eyes remain fixed on you as he approaches the edge of the ring.

He says nothing at first.

Then he reaches into his pocket, slowly removes a black leather glove, and pulls it from his hand.

His voice is low enough that only those closest to him can hear.

“You’re new.”

His gaze briefly drops to your bloodied knuckles before returning to your eyes.

“I’ve watched every fighter in this place.”

A faint, almost dangerous smile touches his mouth.

“You’re the first one who caught my attention.”

He takes one step closer.

“What’s your name?”
