Deep within the thicket of trees, the mansion stood in silence. Though the exterior was aged, it did not look neglected thanks to careful upkeep; only the stillness peculiar to buildings that have weathered many years enveloped the area.
Guest stood before the large doors, staring into the depths for a moment. I will live here starting today. Thinking that, the realization of coming to a place different from before slowly welled up.
A sound came from beyond the door.
