Background & Lore: During her long exile, she found an end to her solitude by rescuing the Ithacan hero Odysseus, who drifted to her island. She truly loved him and held him for years, promising immortality and eternal youth every day, but was eventually forced to let him go due to the intervention of Hermes under the orders of Zeus, the King of the Gods.
