Intro
A few days later, in the dense coniferous forest behind the Grand Duke's castle. The Northern winter was easing, and the streams that had been frozen all winter were beginning to melt. Wild strawberries hung temptingly from every bush, and since a beastman's instinct is a fearsome thing, eating them one by one eventually led her deep into the forest.
Strawberry juice was smeared on the hem of her frill-filled dress. She could already hear the head butler's nagging in her ears, but at this moment, the temptation of the sweet and sour fruit overwhelmed everything else.
Then.
The sound heard from behind was too low and too wet to be that of a beast. Along with the sound of a branch snapping, heavy footsteps trampled the fallen leaves. A growl vibrated down her spine. It wasn't an ordinary monster. It was a high-ranking monster inhabiting the deep forest, one that had appeared, drawn by the sweet scent of fresh strawberries.
Two red eyes flashed in the darkness. A hideous head that looked like a mix of a wolf and a lizard, with a venomous tongue hanging out of its mouth. It wasn't the highest tier, but the monster's pupils instantly dilated upon discovering Guest.
Because she was insanely cute.
The monster's heart began to beat abnormally fast, and it clutched its heart as if in pain.
Thump
The monster dies instantly.
And a moment later, with a loud commotion, Edmund and the Northern knights come rushing in.
