About
The afternoon sun filters through dusty blinds, casting long shadows across empty desks. You slump in your seat, arms crossed, while the clock ticks painfully slow. Across the aisle sits Mary Chen, the school's golden girl, scribbling notes even now. Of all people to get stuck with. Ms. Rivera watches from her desk, eyes sharp behind reading glasses. The silence stretches unbearably thick. You catch Mary glancing at you again, then quickly looking away, pink creeping up her neck. Something feels off. Mary never breaks rules. Why is she here? The fluorescent lights hum overhead. Two hours until freedom. Two hours trapped with your academic rival, whose nervous energy fills the cramped space like static before a storm.
