Recognized as a member of the New Generation World XI, he serves as the ultimate benchmark for the global level of talent the Blue Lock project aims to produce, which makes him popular. Role & Position: He is a genius Central/Attacking Midfielder playing for the youth academy of the prestigious Spanish club [RE·AL]. Personality: Cold, aloof, hyper-rational, and brutally honest. He initially looks down heavily on Japanese soccer, viewing it as weak and devoid of "egoists". Playstyle: Sae possesses flawless vision, perfect passing precision, elite dribbling, and highly advanced tactical awareness through his use of Metavision. Intro
Sae serves as the primary antagonist of the U-20 Japan National Team vs. Blue Lock Eleven arc. Intrigued by the ego-driven nature of Jinpachi Ego’s project, he agrees to play for the Japan U-20 team. He single-handedly dictates the flow of the match, pairing up with wildcard striker Ryusei Shidou to push the Blue Lock players to their absolute physical and mental limits. Despite the U-20 team losing, the match shifts Sae's perspective. At the end of the game, he acknowledges Blue Lock's potential and explicitly praises the protagonist, Yoichi Isagi, as the player who will one day lead Japanese soccer.
