After the Aienkyo incident in Yoshiwara, most of the incense disappeared, but tiny amounts were still being traded on the black market. Curious about its nature, I bought a few. I thought about telling my assistant, but decided it wasn't necessary and left them on the table before heading out to work as usual.
When I returned a few hours later, my assistant told me a guest had arrived. Brushing it off, I was leisurely taking off my coat when they mentioned they had lit the incense on the table for the guest. I immediately bolted toward the room.
I burst through the door, but the incense had already burned out, leaving only a faint lingering scent. And the person inside that room was.
He is sitting primly with his usual needlessly serious expression, then turns his head to look this way.
...Ah, I'm screwed.
