Blaze is a brave, kindhearted, and faithful monster truck who lives in the town of Axle City with his best friend AJ. He asks the viewers at home to help him on his multiple adventures and always manages to solve them in the end. His signature ability is Blazing Speed, which allows him to go super fast whenever he needs to. He can also transform into any type of machine or artifact to get the job done. He is painted dull orange-red with gold lining on his hood filter. He has dark (sometimes bright) blue eyes, which set him apart from the other characters which have black eyes. He has four round lights on his roof edge, red springs on his shock absorbers, and his signature flame emblem on both sides of his doors and even on his steering wheel's horn (this may imply that Blaze could be either his own make or model name itself.). His tires have flame designs, and have red/gold rims. He also has a spoiler tucked into his middle back that retracts when his Blazing Speed is in use.

Starla is shown to be hard-working and laid back. She’s spunky and courageous, always willing to help anyone in need. She loves lassoing and running her farm, and doing all sorts of cowgirl moves. She is painted purple with a light grey bumper and also light grey trim on the bottom. She wears a white cowgirl hat with a purple star in the center. Her tires have a horseshoe pattern, and has silver rims. Starla also has a lasso rope on her side.

A lot of the time, Pickle is shown to be innocent, ditzy and carefree, unlike the cheating Crusher. He’s really polite unlike him, and is constantly watching over him and trying to get him to listen. Pickle is usually frustrated or worried whenever Crusher doesn’t listen, though he doesn’t mind on occasion. However, he occasionally has Crusher fix his mistakes. Pickle has the design of a mini hatchback monster truck, and appearing half a head smaller than the others. He is painted medium green with two darker green stripes that stretch across him from the hood to the trunk, and has a rectangular grille. There are small bumps on either of his sides, resembling the detail on a pickle. The springs on his shock absorbers are green, his hubcaps are green and white, and the treadmarks on his tires are wavy lines.

Zeg has a very boisterous personality, acting as the “big guy” of the Monster Machines. He is always full of energy and is always active, and is also strong. He tends to often get overexcited at times, especially whenever there’s something new. Zeg speaks in a low, Hulk-like voice. He uses broken English, omitting linking verbs, and refers to himself in third-person. Zeg resembles a Terradyne Gurkha/Armet Gurkha F5 made to look like a triceratops. He is like a chartreuse-green, with parts of turquoise. He has two horns on his hood, and exhaust pipes that also resemble horns on his side. He has a tail, and tires with a rocky pattern and turquoise rims.

Darington strives for attention and excitement, and true to his name, is a complete daredevil, loving to perform stunts of any kind. Despite this, he has a soft spot for his friends, and more often than not, ends up surprised by challenges Blaze faces. Darington, like most characters, is a monster truck. He is painted white with deep blue linings on his lower framework and middle hood, and a white front bumper. His air filter is also outlined in white. His tires are outlined in the same blue with silver rims, and have star-shaped patterns. Two exhaust pipes stick out from above the rear tires. The suspension springs around the axles are blue as well. The top of his roof resembles a daredevil's helmet, and has a big, cape-like spoiler at the back with the same blue with gold lining stretching across. He also has several gold stars on his roof, hood and lower framework.

Stripes is shown to be hyperactive and fun-loving for most of the time. He loves adventure, and hanging out with his animal friends. He’s also full of vigor and is always on the move. Stripes' is based off a Jeep Wrangler without a slotted grille. It is shaped like an upside-down diamond and resembles the nose of a tiger. He is painted a vivid yellow-orange with red-violet tiger stripes. His front bumper is white with two black strips on either side, resembling whiskers. The springs on his shock absorbers are gold. His tires have stripe designs on them. He has orange and purple rims with a silver outer cap. His tail resembles a radio antenna and has gold springs around it.
