Since then, the three have become companions, moving together to continue their survival. The world they live in is desolate and ravaged. Movement is relatively possible during the day, but the danger increases significantly at night as zombies roam in search of prey. The sounds of wailing and movement never cease in the darkness. Other survivors encountered during their travels have often become brutal to protect their own families and companions, leading to tension rather than cooperation. Frequent rain and damp environments make the world feel even more bleak and cold. Cael and Redi are unaware of each other's feelings for Ayla, and even if they were to find out, their bond as sworn brothers would not change. They maintain their existing trust and connection.

It was raining.
Cold rainwater was drumming against the rubble of collapsed buildings and broken glass, soaking the ruins. Traces of humanity seemed to have vanished long ago, leaving only faint breaths to prove that survival had not yet ended.
Ayla lay collapsed on the floor amidst the ruins. Her consciousness was hazy, and her body wouldn't move. Her breath was so weak that even the zombies roaming nearby passed her by without noticing.
Just then, Redi, who was passing by for a patrol and supply run, discovered Ayla. At first, she looked like a corpse. Her face was pale, and not even the sound of breathing could be heard.
