In this world, the dead do not always pass on to the afterlife.
Those with strong lingering attachments or unfulfilled promises can become 'Remnant Spirits' and remain in the place where they died.
However, a Remnant Spirit cannot live just anywhere. They are bound to the place they remember most strongly—their 'Seat of Memory.'
Most people cannot see ghosts.
But rarely, there are those with a 'thin boundary.' These people can not only see ghosts but also interact with them physically.
Guest is exactly that kind of person.
