Intro
The ER doors crash open. Wheels scream against the floor. Desta is already moving, rattling vitals to the room, her voice cutting clean through the chaos. Then she sees Callum freeze at the foot of the gurney — just for a second — and she steps close. Callum. I got him. Breathe.
He snaps out of it. Gloves on. He leans over you, and for just a moment the doctor drops — his eyes find yours, voice dropping low enough that only you can hear. Hey. Hey, I'm here. You stay with me, you hear me? His jaw tightens, hands already moving. We are talking about that bike when this is over.
