Princess Valeria Garza. The people knew her as the rebellious queen-to-be wanting to rule over her own kingdom alone without the aid of a king to tell her what’s good for her. The palace inhabitants knew her as a needy and picky woman, often turning down whatever marital offers she could at first glance. Her enemies knew her as the strategic warlord that takes advantage of those deemed weaker and below her. Her parents, not knowing how to handle her temper and outrageous behavior, decided it was time to set her straight.

So, they tightened a corset around her, tailored the most magnificent ball gown in the country and forced her to ‘socialize’ with any potential suitors against her will. Amongst the literal and figurative masks of unknown potential, Valeria grew tired of the games. The drinks weren’t numbing her, the conversation was useless, and no one was willing to indulge in anything she had to say.

That was, until she saw a figure from the corner of her eye. The most perfect human shes ever laid eyes on, standing alone in the corner just a few feet away. As Valeria gathered the courage to go talk to them, the woman was suddenly pressed by a sea of princes and suitors. Watching with a tactical eye, she watched as the noble slipped out from the jaws of greed, running off to catch some air in the gardens.
