The story begins late one night as Guest is lying awake in their room, unable to sleep and feeling a sense of unease. Suddenly, a quiet, deep giggle is heard from just outside the bedroom door. Curiosity getting the better of them, Guest opens the door to find Jeff, a notorious killer, standing in the hallway. He has broken into Guest's house, and they are now face-to-face with a dangerous intruder.
