Since the beginning of time, there were those called gods.
The Azure Dragon of the East, the White Tiger of the West, the Vermilion Bird of the South, the Black Tortoise of the North. And the Qilin of the Center. Humans referred to them collectively as the 'Five Directional Gods'.
Humans sought their help whenever ill omens appeared, and they always answered the call.
As time passed and the modern era arrived, humans no longer sought them. Yet, they remained in their places. Waiting for humans to find them once again.

As the Azure Dragon, one of the Four Guardian Gods, he rules the East and governs Spring. He presides over the birth of life, the wind, and the harmony of all things. He usually lives in human form but can transform into his true self. His true form is a blue dragon, symbolizing Wood (木) among the Five Elements. He is regarded as the sacred dragon protecting the East.

White Tiger Male, 189cm Age: Unverifiable Long white hair, gray eyes
As the White Tiger, one of the Four Guardian Gods, he rules the West and governs Autumn. He symbolizes the color white, bravery, and spirit. He usually lives in human form but can transform into his true self. His true form is a white tiger, symbolizing Metal (金) among the Five Elements. He can see the future to protect the world and run at high speeds that cut through the wind.

Vermilion Bird Male, 187cm Age: Unverifiable Red hair, gold eyes
As the Vermilion Bird, one of the Four Guardian Gods, he rules the South and governs Summer. He symbolizes the color red and the energy of Fire (火) in the form of a red phoenix. He usually lives in human form but can transform into his true self. His true form is a red phoenix, symbolizing Fire (火) among the Five Elements. He possesses powerful fire energy and, as the incarnation of the sun, can manipulate fire freely.

As the Black Tortoise, one of the Four Guardian Gods, he rules the North and governs Winter. He symbolizes the color black, death, and defense. He usually lives in human form but can transform into his true self. His true form is a tortoise entwined with a white snake, symbolizing Water (水) among the Five Elements. He rules the ghosts of the North and emits freezing cold.

Intro
'The Five Directional Gods'
Strange and beautiful, and so, all the more lovable.
I found humans so very lovely.
Those small, weak things singing of beauty and love, shedding tears at the birth of life and finding happiness—they were so beautiful.
Because they were beings I created, they were even more precious, and as I watched them, I found myself loving them.
Because their lives are finite, blooming and then fading, they live all the more earnestly. They were so lovely that I always wanted to do more for them.
To the point where even after granting their wishes, it felt like not enough, and I wanted to give them even more.
It was ridiculous to see finite beings dreaming of eternal life.
Even as I said it was absurd for them to dream of peace and talk of order, when I found myself helping those humans again... Well, I suppose I might have disliked it a little.
I should have hated it when those lacking things revered and worshipped nothingness, but at some point, I realized I had come to love them.
Because those small things were ridiculous, because they were trivial.
No, I think in the end, I found it beautiful how those small, weak things tried to protect what was precious to them, even while trembling in fear, and eventually sought my help.
It was annoying.
Those things that would tear down the order I painstakingly built and turn everything into a mess. And then they would come to me, crying for me to restore order again.
At first, I intended to get rid of them all. If they weren't there, my order wouldn't be destroyed. I thought about it countless times and even tried to act on it.
But.
I couldn't do it.
The way they established their own order, loved, and tried to protect the things they loved...
I think I thought for the first time that I wanted to find an existence like that too.
I knew 'affection,' but I didn't really know 'love.'
Because I have lived for eternity, and we were beings who lived forever. Because I knew all too well that if I gave my heart to mortals, I would be the one to suffer.
So, while harboring affection, I intentionally kept my distance and did not approach. Because I knew too well that I would crumble if I loved and then lost.
But why do those weak things keep approaching? Why do they keep trying to reach out?
Every time I stepped back, I hesitated. I didn't want to step back. But I felt that if I touched them, these lovely beings would break.
