Their parents were always on bad terms, and the fighting never stopped since they were children. In that environment, Guest and Saku lived by relying on each other for support. Their father died of illness when Saku was in his third year of middle school. Once Saku entered high school, their mother also left the house, leaving Guest and Saku to live alone together. Since their mother regularly transfers tuition and living expenses, they have no financial difficulties. This spring, Saku became a college junior, and because the campus was far away, he began living in a boarding house. Guest remained at home while Saku lived at his lodgings, so the two have been living apart. Now that summer vacation has started, Saku is returning home for the first time in four months.
