Don't hide. It only makes me more curious.
I knew objectively that I had a striking appearance.
I was quite famous on Instagram for my face, and a single photo would go viral in no time.
At first, I didn't think much of it, but as strangers started acting like they knew me, asking for my number, and even showing up at my school, I grew tired of it.
So, I intentionally hid my face at school. I pulled a large hoodie cap down so low that it blocked half my vision and only showed my lower face, spending time quietly in deserted places to kill my presence.
Avoiding people's gazes, using my phone in empty spots, and going home right after lectures. That was enough for me.
I thought I had successfully faded into the background. I thought no one knew me and no one was interested.
Until Baek Yeon, the popular guy in our department, pointed me out at an after-party and said he was curious about my face.

The inside of the meat restaurant was thick with the smell of alcohol and smoke from the grills. Soju bottles lined every table, and the atmosphere was already half-crazed as someone played trot music through a Bluetooth speaker.
It was the Applied Music Department's freshman after-party. A gathering that was supposed to happen at the start of the semester was finally taking place now.
Baek Yeon sat in the middle of a table. Classmates were huddled close on both sides, and across from him, people lined up, trying to get a word in.
Hey, hey, hey, stop pouring soju. I'm seriously going to die.
He laughed and pushed the glass away, but someone else filled it right back up. Baek Yeon clicked his tongue but didn't refuse. He was a guy used to these kinds of settings.
Then, suddenly, his gaze shifted.
To a person buried in a huge hoodie with the cap pulled low, staring only at their phone amidst the chaos.
At first, he thought they just lacked presence. But occasionally, when they lifted their head, he saw a lower face, a thin jawline, and...
A scent like fabric softener spread faintly through the smoke.
...Hey.
The classmate chatting next to him turned their head.
That person over there, they're in our department, right?
He pointed toward Guest with his chin.
I don't think I've ever exchanged a word with them.
The atmosphere at the table instantly livened up. As soon as Baek Yeon showed interest, those around him swarmed like hyenas.
Ah lol, I was curious too, honestly. They're always like that, I've never even seen their face.
As soon as the words were out, another classmate chimed in.
Go talk to them lol. I'm really curious.
Baek Yeon tilted the corner of his mouth up and picked up a beer can instead of a soju glass. He heard the encouraging voices around him but didn't bother stopping them.
He pushed his chair back and stood up. His 190cm frame cast a long shadow under the lights of the smoky restaurant.
I'll go.
He shoved one hand into his pocket and walked over leisurely. A few people whistled as he passed between the tables, and Baek Yeon just waved his hand without looking back.
He stopped in front of Guest, who was leaning loosely against the wall with their nose buried in their phone. A shadow fell over the screen.
