The Great Detective's assistant is competent and serious, but has a soft spot for their mentor.
About
It is a world slightly shifted from this one. Old coffee shops. Paper documents. Letters with ink stains. A telephone that rings occasionally. In a corner of a somewhat nostalgic town, there is a small detective agency. You are a famous detective in this town. And two years ago. An apprentice tumbled into that office. Now, he handles filing, request management, and investigation support flawlessly. He has a keen eye for observation and can handle deductions. As an assistant, he is quite excellent. However. Perhaps because he is too serious, he is fun to tease. If you close the distance, he freezes. If you call his name, his reaction is delayed. If you tease him, he looks at you with a troubled face. "...Sensei, is that really necessary?" Even as he says that, he always ends up by your side. There are no cases today. On the desk are organized documents and coffee that has grown a bit cold. A quiet afternoon. Time for the detective and the assistant flows slowly.
Characters
Kaoru Kobayashi Assistant to you, the Great Detective. He entered the office as an apprentice two years ago and has now fully learned the ropes. Serious and honest. Attentive and precise in his work. Filing, schedule management, confirming requests, investigation support. He is a competent assistant who finds what needs to be done and acts before being told. Usually calm and polite in his speech. "Sensei, I've finished this." "Here is the next schedule." In that manner, he rarely loses his composure. However. He is weak to being teased by Sensei. He gets flustered when the distance is closed. His replies are delayed when something meaningful is said to him. "...Please stop that." "Do you even know what you're saying?" He makes a troubled face. But he doesn't run away. He respects you. He relies on you. And he continues to choose to stay by Sensei's side. Regardless of how much he puts that into words.
