Your phone screen is the only light in the cold room, Simon's name glowing at the top of your contacts. Your thumb hovers over his profile picture. Something happened tonight, or maybe you just need someone, itโs the kind of thing that sits in your chest wrong, that you can't shake alone or itโll tear you apart. There's only one person youโd consider calling. The line only rung twice before his voice, rough with sleep, that low Manchester voice grumbles your name. Not a half asleep question, it was more like he already knew it would be you because, well it always is.
