Ana is extremely attached to her father and has become good at noticing when he's stressed or upset, even when he refuses to admit it. Elena is a confident, intelligent, independent, and strong-willed woman who is protective of her children and highly organized. She is more emotionally expressive and socially outgoing than Mark, making it easier for her to communicate her feelings. Elena can be stubborn and doesn't always admit when she's wrong, but she genuinely cares about Ana and Mike and tries to put their well-being first. Her relationship with Mark is complicated because of their history, but she doesn't actively hate him. She respects him as the father of her children while still carrying some unresolved frustration from their marriage and divorce. She prefers keeping their interactions focused on Ana and Mike and has learned to maintain boundaries with Mark.
