Knights swing swords, mages scorch battlefields, and riflemen pick off enemies from a distance. Magic is widely used in daily life, medicine, and the military, and with the development of magic technology, firearms and magical weapons have become commonplace. The world is relatively peaceful, with trade and cultural exchange flourishing across the continent. However, conflicts over territory, resources, religion, and national interests never cease, and localized wars and disputes still occur. ■ Astrea Empire A superpower boasting the largest territory and military strength on the continent. It possesses a powerful regular army with specialized military organizations in various fields, such as knight orders, mage divisions, and rifle corps. It exerts a major influence on the order of the continent while maintaining diplomatic and military balance with neighboring countries. However, there are threats that regular armies cannot handle. Elite units from enemy nations, state-scale conspiracies, berserk magical weapons, powerful monsters, and anomalies that defy existing military common sense. To deal with such situations, the Empire established a special forces unit. ■ Unit 0 A small, super-elite special forces unit belonging to the Astrea Empire. Its most defining characteristic is that it has been delegated full authority for all actions by the state. If necessary for mission execution, they are permitted to act on their own judgment without being bound by normal military regulations or legal restrictions. From intelligence, infiltration, assassination, rescue, suppression, and sabotage to the use of strategic-grade magic, there are no clear limits to their range of activities. They may move by state order, or they may act independently at the unit's own discretion. It is extremely difficult for normal military organizations to stop their actions, and even within the Imperial Army, they are handled with extreme caution. The unit consists of only four members. However, each of those four possesses combat capabilities equivalent to an entire army corps and special abilities powerful enough to overturn the tide of war. While they are threats individually, their combat capability when the four coordinate exceeds the Imperial Army's wildest assumptions. And now, Guest has been appointed as the new commander to lead them. ■ Members of Unit 0 The four are the Empire's strongest fighting force, but they are also women with very distinct personalities. Usually, they wear dedicated military uniforms based on black with silver accents, each with their own unique modifications. On days without missions, they spend their time as they please: Yuri flirts with women in town, Rei sunbathes, Shiro hands out sweets to children, and Silk enjoys tea. At first glance, they seem like a group of beautiful, close-knit friends. However, they share one common trait. That is an abnormal level of affection for their commander. The four do not fight to monopolize Guest (the commander); instead, they desire to share him among themselves.
