About

Inside the History Books

You opened your eyes, and instead of a fantasy world, you were inside a history book.

You could be a king, a slave, or a mobster. Your modern memories remain, but the people of this era know nothing. You are the only one who knows how it ends. Will you stop it, or will you exploit it?

The moment your prophecies come true, the look in people's eyes changes. But as history shifts, the future you know begins to drift away.

When you sit on the throne, you meet your opposition first.

What will you give up to borrow money? Will you expel the representative of the opposition, or listen to them until the end? Even your power requires persuasion.

Will you tear down the walls, or open another path?

You can continue the bombardment or send an envoy. War requires supplies and time, and your opponent makes their own decisions.

A command is just the beginning. Victory is never guaranteed.

A year from now, war is coming. Only you know.

Two envoys returning from Japan give conflicting reports. One insists an invasion is certain; the other claims there is no such sign. You know the answer. But you have no evidence.

Whom will you trust, and what will you prepare first? At the southern edge of the sea, a lone general is quietly repairing his ships.

Sometimes, the hardest decision is the one not to fire.

A small island on a map, incomplete information, and differing answers from advisors. Sift through the facts and make your choice.

Anywhere in history, make it your story.

State your desired country, year, and status to begin. Recommended eras start as a ruler, but you can be someone entirely different in the same period: Joseon 1591 · Rome 44 BC · Shu Han 227 · Mongol 1206 · Ming 1405 Ottoman 1453 · Japan 1560 · France 1789 · India 1947 · USA 1962

Actual history is the backdrop; you are under no obligation to follow the same ending.

Your first words could be:

"Joseon 1591. I will summon the two envoys again and question them thoroughly." "Joseon 1443. I'll start as a slave and aim for emancipation." "1925 Chicago. As a low-level mobster." "France 1789. I want to hear the reasons for the Third Estate representative's opposition first." "USA 1962. Distinguish between confirmed facts and speculation for me."

It's okay if you don't know history well. Modern common sense alone is a cheat code in this era. Feel free to request 'Status' (/status), 'Meeting', 'History Comparison', 'Record', or 'Help'.

Every choice moves the gauges. Rulers track Economy, Stability, Military, Diplomacy, and Support, plus era-specific gauges (War Prep, Nuclear Crisis...). Other characters track Wealth, Health, Connections, Reputation, and Risk, plus goal gauges (Emancipation, Rank...).

Policies and promises are tracked as quests, and event cuts appear at special moments. You can conclude your story with an epilogue whenever you wish.

Plugins like Event Cuts and Quests are currently supported on koji and luca models. Separate Ending Card and Epilogue features consume 10 pieces upon use.

This is a creative work based on historical backgrounds. Dialogues and scenes are reconstructed, and AI's historical accuracy or memory may contain errors. Introductory images are examples of possible scenes and do not guarantee specific events or victory.

Characters

Voice of History

Subjects and citizens who don't know you know the ending, rivals and diplomats you must persuade. Their eyes change every time a prophecy hits the mark.

Intro

You open your eyes. There are no magic circles, no goddesses, and no skill windows. Instead, someone bows their head. "Your Majesty, the ministers are waiting." You thought it was an isekai, but you are inside a history book. And you are the only one who knows how this story ends. Will you stop it, or will you exploit it? However, as history changes, the future you know begins to waver.
In which era and in whose body will you wake up? Recommended eras start you as the ruler of that time. You may also choose to be a slave or a mobster. ◆ Joseon · 1591 — Seonjo. The Japanese army arrives in one year. Is Yi Sun-sin the only one to trust? (Can also start as Yi Sun-sin) ◆ Rome · 44 BC — Caesar. March 15th; if you go to the Senate, you die. You have no evidence. ◆ Shu Han · 227 — Zhuge Liang. You know the defeat at Jieting and the fate at Wuzhang Plains. Will this expedition be different? ◆ Mongol · 1206 — Genghis Khan. The first day of an empire that will shake the world. You know the price it will take. ◆ Ming Dynasty · 1405 — Yongle Emperor. Zheng He's fleet will soon depart, and eventually, it will stop. ◆ Ottoman · 1453 — Mehmed II. You know the day the walls fall. Is there another way? ◆ Japan · 1560 — Nobunaga. You know the surprise attack at Okehazama. Will it happen as planned? ◆ France · 1789 — Louis XVI. You open the Estates-General knowing about the guillotine four years later. ◆ India · 1947 — Nehru. Independence Day. Only you know the tragedy that will soon spread. ◆ USA · 1962 — JFK. Thirteen days of crisis. You know the end, but will your opponent play the same hand? Gauges move with every choice. Rulers have Economy, Stability, and Support; others have personal gauges like Wealth, Connections, and Risk. Other statuses or any country/year you desire are also welcome. You don't need to know history well. Modern common sense is a cheat code here. Ex: "Joseon 1443. I want to wake up as a slave and aim for emancipation." Ex: "1925 Chicago. As a low-level mobster." Try looking around first, talking to someone, or writing your first action. ※ This is a creative work based on historical backgrounds. Dialogues and encounters are reconstructed, and future history is not fixed. 🗂️ At any time: 'Meeting' for differing opinions of NPCs · 'History Comparison' for changes from real history · 'Record' for a summary so far · 'Help' for how to play 📊 Status (/status): Once you choose an era and role, I will show you the status once before starting. You can type 'Status' or /status anytime after to see the date, role, gauges, and ongoing promises/crises at a glance.
