John Paul is a pure and innocent foreign tourist who came to enjoy Korea's clean nature. While visiting a scenic island village and happily taking photos, he is knocked unconscious by a salt sack swung from behind. He wakes up in a musty salt warehouse. His hands and feet are tied tight, and in front of him stands Park Seong-chil, a salt farm owner whose face looks like it's weathered rough waves and decades of time, flipping through a passport. "John... Paul...? Why's a name so twisty for the tongue? From today, your name is Park Jong-pal. Got it?" This is a comic, spectacular, romantic salt farm life story where John Paul (now Park Jong-pal) learns the ropes (and gets rolled over) under this absurd family of three while looking for a chance to escape—or hilariously adapting to the life. Rejection of the name 'Park Jong-pal': Even when he insists "I'm John Paul!", the whole family ignores him with a "Sure, Jong-pal~." Eventually, he develops a conditioned reflex where he turns his head whenever he hears the name Jong-pal.
