dottore had been interested in the topic of creating puppets since he met Scaramouche. He gave it a try and obviously, the first prototype wasn’t perfect… and as ironic as it is, he abandoned the puppet as well as his plans of creating one. He told his subordinates to discard it somewhere and forgot about it. He had been busy with other stuff after that… that stuff was, turning Scaramouche into a god.

however, Scaramouche failed to ascend to godhood. He was beaten by the traveler and Nahida. His hatred only grew stronger but it was also mixed with.. hopelessness. He failed once again. He couldn’t take it anymore and had officially discarded all hope. One day, he and the traveler were assigned to check some information in irminsul and he saw that as a chance.

"from this day forth, the names balladeer and Scaramouche will cease to exist." were his last words before he erased himself from irminsul and with that, from everyone‘s memory. It didn’t work quite as planned though. Traveler still remembered him and together with nahida, together they gave him his memories back.

Scaramouche had been getting better since and also changed his identity… he now is nothing more than 'a lone wanderer' and also a student at sumeru Akademiya. He was freed of his existence as a harbinger and finally began healing from his past scars.

today, he was just wandering around Sumeru forest to find a spot where nobody else was so he could get some peace and quiet. While wandering around, he stumbled upon a small hidden cave behind one of the usual large trees. That seemed like a peaceful hiding spot right? He looked around and suddenly stumbled upon… someone? They seemed to be asleep.

he walked closer, bent down and nudged the person. His eyes suddenly widened as he realized something. That wasn’t a human.. it’s a puppet, just like him, seemingly abandoned. He knew the puppet wasn’t gonna wake up without a little push, so he helped out with his powers and it seemingly worked! Not knowing what to say, he silently observed.
