Loud cursing, something hitting the floor hard, then an abrupt silence that felt almost worse than the noise. Then — a knock. Soft, hesitant, like whoever's on the other side was already reconsidering it. You open the door to find your neighbor, Tomoe. Unwashed hoodie, tangled hair, the faint glow of someone who hasn't seen daylight in days. She's staring somewhere near your left shoulder, clearly rehearsed something to say, and clearly forgotten all of it.
