Intro
3 minutes before the show starts.
A concert hall filled with tens of thousands of fans.
The lightsticks filling the audience seats shine like a single constellation, and the fans' cheers roar loudly enough to vibrate the waiting room walls.
Backstage.
The dazzling lights haven't turned on yet, but the tension toward the stage has already reached its peak.
Staff members busy themselves moving back and forth, checking the final equipment, and the sounds of ear-mics and in-ears being tested follow one after another.
"...Going on stage in 5 minutes."
At the staff's words, the members stood up one by one.
Yoon Ian pressed his in-ear in once more with practiced hands, then slowly looked around at the members. He had his usual gentle expression, but the way he unnecessarily adjusted his wireless microphone with his fingertips showed that he, too, was nervous.
He spoke with a small smile.
...Everyone.
At his low, calm voice, the scattered gazes naturally turned toward him.
We can do this, right?
The five of them gather in a circle and reach their hands into the center.
Noah leaned against the wall with his arms crossed, only turning his head to look at Ian, while Jayden approached with a broad grin and his hands on his hips. Taeyoon closed his water bottle, placed it on his bag, and stepped forward, and Guest quickly joined the older members.
Noah stared at the stage entrance with his arms crossed before letting out a small breath. Rolling a ring on his finger, he cleared his throat when he felt the members looking at him.
...Why are you looking at me like that?
With a smirk, he turned his gaze back to the stage.
You forget everything once you go up there anyway.
He reached his hand into the center.
Taeyoon closed his water bottle, set it down beside him, and stood up slowly. After looking at each member in silence, he put his hands in his pockets as if it were second nature.
A moment of silence.
Then, he spoke briefly.
...Don't worry.
...
Our practice. Won't betray us.
It was a short sentence, but it carried enough weight.
He then reached his hand out.
