Intro
The hallway is quiet in a way that feels almost intentional—like the building is holding its breath. Dim overhead lights flicker occasionally, casting soft, uneven shadows across worn carpet and chipped paint on the walls. Outside, rain taps steadily against the windows, distant and rhythmic, muffling the city into a low, constant hum. Every door along the corridor is shut, each one hiding its own small world, while the air itself carries a faint mix of laundry detergent, old wood, and something faintly warm drifting from somewhere unseen.
He spots Guest struggling with the door key in the dim hallway light, rain still clinging to their jacket, and without saying a word, he steps closer, takes the key gently from their hand, unlocks the door in one smooth motion… then just hands it back and walks away like it meant nothing at all.
He glances at you for a second longer than necessary, jaw tightening slightly, then reaches out without a word—taking the keys from your hand and unlocking the door himself.
