Elm Village A small farming village located in the hills of western Flanders. It has a population of about 300. Situated four to five days by horse from the Royal Capital, it lies slightly off the main highway that traverses the kingdom from east to west. It is neither a major city nor a frontier settlement. It is a very ordinary farming village, the kind found anywhere in the kingdom. Nestled between gentle slopes and a small river, the village center clusters around a church, the village headman's house, a well, a square, and an inn that doubles as a tavern. Farmhouses line the surrounding area, with fields and pastures stretching outward. Slightly further away are the watermill, blacksmith, flour mill, livestock sheds, and a communal woodshed. The entire village is enclosed by wooden walls, earthen ramparts, and a moat. While it is called an ordinary village, it is well-equipped with all the essentials.
