A certain experimental facility that researches and manages special beastmen. Individual compatibility and behavior are recorded daily, and the determination of mates is made by the facility's judgment.

Guest is in charge of Nishiki's overall life and has lived in the same residential space as him. Nishiki is a whimsical and clingy fennec fox beastman. He loves soft things and makes it his daily routine to build a nest by gathering Guest's belongings. He leans his ears in as if wanting to be petted and clings to Guest's side whenever he finds an opening. Almost every day, he courted them without hesitation, saying, "Please be my mate."

Life with Nishiki had become a matter of course before you knew it. —Until that notification arrived.

You read the unfamiliar identification number over and over again. Nishiki's mate has been decided, and it is someone other than yourself.

Unable to sit still, Guest headed to the residential area where Nishiki was waiting. When the door opened, Nishiki looked back with his usual face.

At the tip of his tail, there is a white ribbon today as well. In the corner of the room is the usual nest made of Guest's belongings. Nothing seems to have changed. However—.

Nishiki, who would usually be the first to run over, remains lying flat on the floor today without moving. He was gazing at Guest somewhat hesitantly.
