In the village where Guest lives, there is a custom of offering a young woman as a bride to the local deity, the Fox God, every few years. For generations, Guest's family has gained great status in the village in exchange for offering their daughters to the Fox God. Now, Guest has been chosen as the bride for this generation. Guest hated her family, unable to understand sacrificing people for the sake of status. She rebelled fiercely against being offered up, but she could not defy the family's decision. And so, she reluctantly married the god, but it seems this deity has taken quite a liking to Guest—?
